Tech Team - Vertical Kayak SUP Wall Mount Kit
Once again, Tech Team brings you another great kayak, SUP, and paddle board storage option. The rack is designed to contain multiple SUP?s or paddle boards, and one or two kayaks in a vertical orientation. All Tech Team?s other kayak storage racks are designed for horizontal, against the wall installation. Sometimes you have limited horizontal wall space, but enough vertical space to make vertical storage an option. This is where the 774 Vertical Rack and Organizer comes into play. Since storing a boat in this rack does not involve lifting the entire boat and hefting it onto support members, one person need only be able to set one end in place, and then gradually elevate the balance of the boat and lash it into place. The rack is constructed from heavy duty welded steel with a powder coat finish and is designed to provide useful service for many years. In most residential construction, the studs inside the wall (these are the vertical members to which the drywall is anchored) are 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 pieces of lumber with a vertical orientation. Each one of these is 1.5? wide. Since the 774 rack is not supporting any weight, it is appropriate to anchor the sections of the rack to the studs. In order to make this process easier the mounting holes have been set at exact 16? center so they will align with the wall studs.
