The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
45 Glock Automatic Pistol (45 GAP) was introduced by Glock in 2003. Ballistically similar to 45 Auto +P, it uses a shorter case that 45 ACP (.7598-inch versus .898-inch), allowing it to be housed in a more compact frame. 45 Glock uses the same .452-inch bullet as the 45 ACP, loaded to the same 23,000 psi as 45 Auto +P. With some loads velocity with 230-grain bullet exceeds 1000 feet per second, offering considerably more stopping power than standard 45 ACP loads--but with enhanced recoil. 45 Glock has not become nearly as popular as the long-entrenched 45 ACP, but both ammuniton and handguns so chambered are readily available from multiple sources. —
